Miradry Treatment for Hyperhidrosis in Malaysia 2022
What is meant by Excessive Sweating?
Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, is a condition where patients sweat profusely for no reason. Patients either sweat excessively in their hands, underarms, forehead, feet or, in extreme cases, all over their body.
How is Excessive Sweating treated?
Excessive sweating is treated by oral medications, electromagnetic impulses, neuro-muscular relaxant injections, laser assisted treatments and by surgical procedures, including liposuction and endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy (ETS) surgery, Robinol (a brand of glycopyrrolate), armpit Botox and Miradry.
Miradry is a technology developed by MiraSmooth, uses microwave energy, instead of the typical lasers involved in hair removal procedures, because it is colour blind. That means that unlike lasers the microwaves can be used on all skin colours.
The process takes about 60 minutes, and requires no surgical incisions or cuts. Temporary black lines and markings are used on the armpit to help guide the treatment, and local anaesthesia is also applied to minimise pain.

A study published in the Journal of Cosmetic and Laser Therapy in 2013 showed that miraDry was effective in treating both axillary (underarm) hyperhidrosis and axillary osmidrosis (foul-smelling sweat). As part of the study, 11 patients in Asia were treated with miraDry and then evaluated 7 months later for improvement of symptoms. At the follow-up, 83.3% of the underarms treated were determined to have experienced a 2 point improvement in the Hyperhidrosis Disease Severity Scale (HDSS). Among those underarms that had exhibited foul odor (osmidrosis), 93.8% showed good to excellent results.
Excessive Sweating (Hyperhidrosis) Treatment Price in Malaysia
miraDry is offered in Singapore. I did the prelim training there, before it landed in Australia last month.
I think prices are similar. We are offering a AUD 3200 (2 treatment deal) in Brisbane. Singapore is slightly higher.
