If you are looking for the best hair transplant clinic in Malaysia for your hair loss treatment, you are in the right place.

Hair Transplant Price Malaysia

How much does a hair transplant procedure cost in Malaysia?

The average cost for hair transplant in Malaysia is about RM 9 (USD 2.17) per graft, i.e. if you are going for 1000 grafts, it will cost you RM 9 x 1000 = RM 9,000 (USD 2,170).

The FUE hair transplant cost may vary from centre to centre in Malaysia. The number of hair grafts will depend on the size of the area to be transplanted as well as the required density.

Editor's Note:

Please take note that there is a difference between 'cost per graft' and 'cost per hair'. One graft may have 2 - 3 hairs. Some clinics may quote you on a per hair basis. So, if the cost is RM 5 / hair and one graft has 3 strands of hair; your cost will be equivalent to RM 15 / graft.

Another important point is that everybody seems to be comparing prices on how much a graft costs. However, much more important than the price of each graft, is the actual survival rate of the grafts implanted.

Your hair grafts are a finite resource. You only have a certain number on the back and sides of your head, and any grafts that don’t survive are essentially gone.

Lower survival rate translates into higher cost per survived graft.

I recently underwent an extensive fue transplant procedure with Klinik Dr Inder and would highly recommend this team of highly skilled professionals to anyone considering any sort of aesthetic treatment. I previously had 2 fut procedures but this was by far the best experience I have ever had as far as results and complications from recovery with the previous surgeons. Dr Inder and her team are professional and highly courteous and would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone considering a hair transplant. ps I came from Australia for my procedure so they are good.

I had hair restoration treatment at the clinic. I started experiencing hair loss from the age of 19, and had the procedure in my early-mid 20s. I arrived in KL on a Monday night, had the procedure on a Tuesday, and on Wednesday had cleaning, bandaging and explaination of after-care, and then flew out the same day! I have to say, Dr. Inder and her team were absolutely wonderful, they made me feel comfortable and gave me the impression that they are very competent! The treatment first started with a consultation with Dr. Inder, who examined the donor area, asked about my concerns, addressed any questions, and then gave me a run down of the treatment. During every step of the treatment, Dr. Inder or her staff explained what they were doing. Dr. Inder reserved the day for just one hair restoration patient, so she gives you her undivided attention. What else? I was given medication (anti-biotics which are essential, and then some nonessentials e.g. pain killers) and an after-care kit which contained some products and information. Dr. Inder was keen to have hear back from me on my progress, and encouraged me to contact her any time if I had any concerns. Why did I choose Klinik Dr. Inder? As a patient from Australia, I was quite nervous about choosing a clinic in another country. However, Dr. Inder and her team were very patient and attentative to all my questions and concerns in the weeks leading up to the procedure. I should note, as someone with a medical background, I certainly had a lot of questions. Dr. Inder also holds a lot of qualifications in aesthetic medical procedures, this is important because hair restoration is not simply plucking hair from one spot and placing into another. Dr. Inder’s keen eye for aesthetics meant that the angulation, direction, and distribution of the hair looked natural! What about the clinic itself? On walking into the clinic, it appeared very modern and clean. Within the treatment rooms, all the equipment was stored and prepared in a very aeseptic manner.

I am a woman in my 50s from Singapore. I was losing hair from the crown of my head and my hair parting was almost half an inch wide. I decided to do a hair transplant in Malaysia and found Dr. Inder. I wanted a female doctor. After reading the reviews I decided to do it. Debra the receptionist called me in 5 minutes after I enquired online. After sending her my photo, I got a quotation. The procedure was not as painful as I thought. The Doctor and all the staff were really nice and professional. I even laughed and joked throughout the procedure. Now, 1 year later I am so happy with fuller hair. My hair has grown and my friends noticed that my hair is now fuller. Highly recommend Dr. Inder for hair transplant.

Well, here what I found out. I went to 3 different type of clinic. Dr Shah Hair clinic at Subang Jaya, Dr Ruben at Bangsar (LRT station) and Premier Clinic at Bangsar Village. I am trying to go to DHI clinic but they closed and never pick up my call. Sigh... Ok the review?
Dr Shah : the cheapest I can get. RM8 per graph and they also give 4 free PRP. The bad side is, there is a lady doctor who I think is not well train to do the job. If you want to do it here, make sure you ask for Dr Shah to do it for you.
Dr Ruben: consultant also need to pay. RM100 for bothing and summore recommend me and foRce me to buy propecia. Cost per graph is RM10. But goid thing is, he will bring his team from overseas if you want to do more than 1500 hair.
Premier Clinic: only do hair implant. They dont do hair transplant. Means they put a fake hair on your head. You can't do many things with that fake hair even though it looks like original. With fake hair, it wont grow, you cant blow dry your hair with certain temp, cant go to sauna without cover your head, can't dye your hair, and it will start gradually to fall within 10 years. Then you have to do it again. And cost RM12 per graph. I dont like this clinic cause the coubter gurl approach me after consultation and trying to force me to pay the up front. Feels like Yun Nam. The PRP cost rm2000 per session. Bloody expensive. Then always said 'my customer from uk, from us bla bla bla'.

What is Hair Transplant?

Hair Transplant is a surgical procedure where hair follicles are transplanted from one part of the body to the scalp or face of a patient. The part of the body from which the follicles are taken is called the

donor site and the part of the scalp or face where follicles are placed is called the recipient site.

Severity of Hair Loss

FUE hair transplant malaysia

Hair restoration starts with knowing the type and severity of hair loss. We use the Norwood-Hamilton classification scale for males. In general, if you fall under grade VI (6) or above, FUE hair transplant is not for you.

FUE vs FUT Hair Transplantation Methods

FUE treatment removes individual follicular units directly from your scalp, which are then replanted into the required site of the scalp.

FUT (Follicular Unit Transplantation) process involves removing a small strip of tissue from the back of the head, from which the donor hair follicles will be extracted. The hair follicles are harvested from the strip by a skilled clinical team before being individually transplanted to the recipient areas.

The per-graft cost of a FUT procedure is generally lower than that of a FUE procedure. Lately however, in response to the rising popularity of the FUE technique, many hair transplantation clinics have started lowering the per graft cost on FUE procedures, so that the cost difference between the two types of procedure are not as much as most people think.

ARTAS Hair Transplant Malaysia

An inside story on ARTAS...
ARTAS, the robotic hair transplant system was launched in Singapore in 2013, I was the first person to purchase this system. The robot was amazing, and watching it work was simply mesmerizing. It did not get tired, and consistently provided high quality grafts at a startling speed. However, as time went on, I realized that technology has its limitations.

Some types of scalp just would not give a good yield of quality grafts. And the robot could not adapt well to some areas. Examples are the sides of the head, and areas of the scalp that were too hard or too spongy. In the end, we still have the robot, and often used it, but found ourselves still relying heavily on traditional machine assisted FUE techniques. Non-robotic. But good. And cheaper too!
